From the 10th – 20th June Encounters brings a slate of meaningful documentaries about humanity, creativity, activism, Investigation and revelation accompanied by live webinars, debates and Q&A’s, ‘meet directors’ locally and from around the world.

Many of the features in this year’s Festival programme have been directed by a host of talented women directors from Turkey, Chile, US, Niger, Zimbabwe, India, UK, Switzerland and of course South Africa. This year we celebrate a number of films that have won awards at major International Film Festivals as well as Oscar and BAFTA nominated documentaries.
