New Pay-What-You-Can Streaming Platform Makes South African Films Accessible to Everyone

6 July 2026

“Where can I watch this local film? I can’t find it on any streaming platform.”

It’s a question we’ve all heard before.

Now, a new pay-what-you-can streaming platform is making local stories more accessible. 2Thirds.co.za is bringing South African films directly to the communities whose stories they tell, creating access for all.

Through its innovative pay-what-you-can model, viewers decide what they can afford to pay, with prices starting from as little as R10 per film, making it easier for more people to discover and enjoy local cinema.

“South African stories should not be limited by geography, cinema access, or affordability. Technology now allows filmmakers to connect directly with audiences, creating a more inclusive and sustainable future for local storytelling.”  – 2Thirds.co.za team

There are 3 films currently available on the website, all 3 filmed and based in Cape Town.
