27th Encounters South African International Documentary Festival

The 27th edition of Encounters South African International Film Festival kicks off on Thursday June 19. This year the festival will showcase 31 short films, Q and A’s, panel discussions and community screenings in Cape Town and Johannesburg from 19 to 29 June.
This year’s selection of short films and documentaries presents a diverse range of compelling stories, exploring themes of past experiences, varied narratives, the strength and resilience of individuals and more.
Encounters takes place at the Labia Theatre and V&A Waterfront Ster-Kinekor in Cape Town from 19 to 29 June 2025.
